‘What fruit therefore had you then in those things, of which you are now ashamed? For the end of them is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end life everlasting. For the wages of sin is death. But the grace of God, life everlasting, in Christ Jesus our Lord.’ Romans 6:21-23
What I surmised about the Germanwings Crash has been confirmed. The co-pilot, Andreas Lubitz, was involved in sin. He was also depressed which many times can also be the result of a sinful life. When we are sinning, our God given conscience hurts. When we surpress the voice of our conscience into the subconscious, this can cause depression.
‘A police source in Dusseldorf revealed: “We have a team disassembling his computer, and that of his girlfriend, because the information that we received was that he trawled the dark side of the web visiting, among other things, sites containing gay porn, suicide themes and sexual perversions.”‘ International Business Times
I do feel very sorry for Andreas and his struggles with his ‘demons’. I am constantly counseling men with their vice of seeing pornography and acting our sexually on these evil pictures they are seeing. Pornography makes perverts out of healthy young men (and now some women too). But if he had never given in to sin, he would have been a happier person and he, along with the 149 other people he killed, would still be alive.
The homosexual advocates will make him a hero because he struggled with his sexuality. They will say he committed suicide because ‘society bullied’ him by not condoning homosexual sex. Every time someone commits suicide over shame, it is automatically the fault of others. They do not believe the person who commits the suicide is responsible.
We do feel sorry for the depressed, mixed up sinners like Andreas. But we also feel very very sorry for all the innocent people that this sinner killed. We also feel very very sorry for all their family and friends. Will all of them matter? Or will just the poor co-pilot, who was into porn and other sexual perversions, be the only one who we feel sorry for.
As I have said many many times before; sin does not work to make us happy. All of God’s laws are from Him out of love for us and for our good. If Andreas had just obeyed God’s laws, he and the other 149 passengers would still be alive today.
We are so blessed to be traditional Catholics and to know God is love and His laws are laws of love to keep us happy in this life and forever in the life of Heaven.
