The first 3 Commandments are concerning how we must adore, respect and obey God. Today, we will look at the next 2 Commandments that refer to our relationship with God.
“Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in Vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that shall take the name of the Lord his God in vain.”
God’s name is very sacred; “Hollowed be Thy Name”. For this reason we never ever take God’s name in vain. We never see movies or hear music that takes God’s name in vain. We always talk respectfully to everyone, especially bishops, priests, religious, parents and elders. We never lower ourselves to use vulgar cuss or swear words when we speak. Instead we use our tongue to pray, to preach the Gospel, to admonish and to build up. Jesus warns us that every word we speak will be accounted for.
“But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall render an account for it in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Matt. 12: 36-37.
We do not use our tongue to gossip or spread rumors.
“Remember that thou keep Holy the Sabbath Day. Six days shalt thou labor, and shalt do all thy works; but on the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God; thou shalt do no work on it, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy beast, nor the stranger that is within thy gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them, and rested on the seventh day, therefore the Lord blessed the seventh day and sanctified it.”
Sunday is a day to pray, read the Bible, play, rest and be with family and friends. It is a day set apart, so that when the routine of the Monday through Friday arrives, we are refreshed and renewed to live it well.
We always go Latin Mass on Sunday at the early mass because God always deserves to receive the first, the very best. For this reason we give Him the first hour of the first day of the week. When we put Latin Mass off till later for our convenience or laziness, then many other things come up and we may end up not going at all. We always go to Latin Mass on Sunday, not Saturday evening. That is all new. They changed that with the Novus Ordo Mass. It was to make it possible for those who could not go on Sunday because of work, to be able to go the vigil before. But, instead, it has become a way to get mass out of the way, and to be able to enjoy Sunday doing what we want to do.
When we enter into church we are always prayerful and quiet, (we do not talk in Church). We come dressed in our very best, because we are truly going to be in the presence of THE KING. Before all Catholics went to Church in their “Sunday best“.
It is a great shame and scandal to see ladies come in sexually provocative clothing, (hot short pants, tight pants (especially leggings), short dresses that almost show their underwear and low necks that show off their cleavage. It can not be made any clearer that what came out of Our Lady Of Fatima‘s mouth when she stated it very clearly: Clothing fashions will be introduced that will OFFEND GOD GREATLY. Can it be said anymore clearly. And this does not only apply to women or men at church, but it also applies to them when they are out in the street or at work. Many men have confessed the sin of being sexually stimulated at Holy Mass by how the women are dressed. Every woman, who has caused men to sin in Church by their sexy clothing, will especially pay for it in Hell. At least church should be a place where men can go and not be sexually tempted.
“But every woman praying or prophesying with her head not covered, disgraceth her head: for it is all one as if she were shaven.
For if a woman be not covered, let her be shorn. But if it be a shame to a woman to be shorn or made bald, let her cover her head. The man indeed ought not to cover his head, because he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man. For the man was not created for the woman, but the woman for the man. Therefore ought the woman to have a power over her head, because of the angels.” 1 Cor: 11:5-10
Men are to wear pants and women dresses or skirts below the knees at all times, at church or not. It is a shame that many men come to Church in shorts. They would never do that for a job interview or for a fancy wedding of rich people. But for God, they make Him put up with their worst. It just shows how much they do not respect God.
We always go to Holy Latin Mass Holy days of obligations in the morning too. Everything comes from God. He asks for so little. So we are more than happy to give Him the whole Sunday or Holy day of obligation by using it in prayer, reading the Bible, spending time with the family, having some recreation and well needed rest. We are to always give God the best. We do not go to Holy Mass when it fits our plans.
Most Catholics break this Commandment by working on Sunday or doing chores. But this Commandment says not even you, your servants or your animals are to work. We can never work on Sunday except if we are doctors, nurses, police, firemen and other essential jobs that keep people safe and alive. We do not work in stores or restaurants. We do not go to stores, gas stations or restaurants on Sunday, so that others do not have to work to serve us. Students enjoy and relax on Sundays, that means they only do their homework on Mon.-Sat. along with their chores.
We are so blessed to know these Commandments and to be free to adore, respect, love and obey God as He deserves. He gives us absolutely everything, including these Commandments, out of love. Is it asking that much to reciprocate a little bit to His generosity by Keeping The Lord’s Day Holy And Going to Latin Mass early on Sunday?
“In trial or difficulty I have recourse to Mother Mary, whose glance alone is enough to dissipate every fear.”
