Everyone who loves the Mass Of All Ages, has heard “ad nauseum”, (Latin for “to nausea), that people will not go to the Latin Mass, because they can not understand Latin. I have already explained many time before the benefits of Latin being used in the Holy Mass, Holy Sacraments and for Church Magisterium.
But I want to write to encourage all of you bishops, priests and laymen who are trying to learn the Latin Mass, Sacraments, Breviary, Holy Rosary and other powerful Latin blessings and prayers.
At the age of 66, I find learning much more difficult than when I was in school. But, because I love God and know that the Latin language is dear to Him and hated by His enemy, the devil, I struggle to keep on learning it. I am committed to suffer for something good.
It has been 7 years since I began to say the Holy Latin Mass. It has been a year and a half since I have been praying the Latin Breviary. Without any study of the Latin language, I am happy to say, by offering the Latin Mass daily and praying the Breviary, I am learning more and more Latin everyday.
What I do do, is to be disciplined and look at the English translation of words that I still do not understand, (that is published along side the Latin), in the Roman Breviary by the wonderful Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate. You can download the Roman Breviary App, it is called BrevMeum.
So, as the saying goes, “anything worthwhile is worth the effort”. So, let us keep on struggling to learn Latin the best we can, and be happy with that. Even if your pronunciation is to be wanting, even if you do not understand every word, keep on praying in Latin and it will come along eventually.
We are part of a humongous holy struggle between good and evil. We need to do what every we have to do and sacrifice to obtain the best, the very best, military arms with which to do this battle with. We could use tooth picks or atomic bombs. It is easy to get a hold of tooth picks, it is almost impossible to get a hold of nuclear weapons.
Thank you so so much to all of you bishops, priests and laymen suffering to learn Latin, the Holy Latin Mass, Latin Sacraments, Holy Rosary and other Latin blessings and prayers. Thank you and be encouraged for all the hatred and persecution you are receiving right now from your bishop, pastor and parishioners. God will reward you for all eternity. Jesus said; “Rejoice and be glad when the persecute you and utter evil against you, because of my name. Rejoice and be glad because your reward is great in heaven.” It is painful and costly to be traditional Catholics, but it is eternally worthwhile.
