Most Catholics today trust themselves more than God. I experience this right away when I try to let people know;
1) That the “Mass of All Times”, the Latin Mass, was developed by the Holy Spirit over hundreds and hundreds of years for man to give proper adoration and glory to God and is a great “treasure” given to us from Him,
almost all Catholics do not believe me and treat me with great contempt for holding these truths. So, we need to ask the question; why do they believe so strongly that they are right and I am so wrong?
The problems comes from the very beginning of mankind’s history. Out of pure love for us, God created us in a paradise. Man and woman had perfect loving familial relations with God, with each other and with all other living creatures. The natural environment, in which they lived, was extremely beautiful and provided for all of their needs without them having to work. Why did Adam and Eve lose all these great gifts from their loving creator?
I think it was because Eve did not have total confidence in God’s love for her and Adam. When the “serpent”, the enemy, the devil, told her that if she ate the fruit of knowledge of good and evil from the only forbidden tree in all of paradise, he did it by working on her lack of trust in her Creator’s love for her. The devil worked on her to doubt God’s goodness.
She felt that she knew what was good for her and that God was wrong. She acted as if she was smarter than God. When she ate the forbidden fruit, she believe that she knew better than God what would make her happy. Yes, the devil suggested this to her, but it was what was in her soul that told her, the devil is right and God is wrong; I will become like God if I eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In the end she did not believe that God, her creator, loved her and wanted to protect her from all that would harm her.
Why did Adam disobey God? Adam ate the forbidden fruit because, even though he had love and confidence in God, he put more confidence and trust in his woman Eve. When she suggested to him to eat of the tree, he felt she must be more correct than God, and obeyed her.
“Now the serpent was more subtle than any of the beasts of the earth which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman: Why hath God commanded you, that you should not eat of every tree of paradise? And the woman answered him, saying: Of the fruit of the trees that are in paradise we do eat: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of paradise, God hath commanded us that we should not eat; and that we should not touch it, lest perhaps we die. And the serpent said to the woman: No, you shall not die the death. For God doth know that in what day soever you shall eat thereof, your eyes shall be opened: and you shall be as Gods, knowing good and evil.
And the woman saw that the tree was good to eat, and fair to the eyes, and delightful to behold: and she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave to her husband who did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened: and when they perceived themselves to be naked, they sewed together fig leaves, and made themselves aprons. And when they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in paradise at the afternoon air, Adam and his wife hid themselves from the face of the Lord God, amidst the trees of paradise. And the Lord God called Adam, and said to him: Where art thou? And he said: I heard thy voice in paradise; and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.” Genesis 2: 1-10
 And the eyes: Not that they were blind before, (for the woman saw that the tree was fair to the eyes, ver. 6.) nor yet that their eyes were opened to any more perfect knowledge of good; but only to the unhappy experience of having lost the good of original grace and innocence, and incurred the dreadful evil of sin. From whence followed a shame of their being naked; which they minded not before; because being now stript of original grace, they quickly began to be subject to the shameful rebellions of the flesh.
So when it comes to listening to God about what pleases Him in Liturgy, like the Holy Sacrifice of the Latin Mass, or to dress respectfully, men and women do not have enough confidence in God to believe it is for their good.
When it comes to the Holy Latin Mass, they believe that they know what is best for them, like, 1) mass in the language they can understand, 2) upbeat music, 3) lots of activity and 4) the priest facing them.
They know and are sure that the Catholic Church was wrong for hundreds and hundred of years when in almost all of the world where the Holy Mass was only offered in Latin. (A small amount of Catholics did also offer other rites like the Eastern rites.) Like Eve, they are sure that God, through the working of the Holy Spirit, did not love them enough to take care of them with His Holy Mass that was slowly developed over centuries.
The new “Adam”, (not Jesus), believes what others tell them about how terrible the Latin Mass is and that the New Mass is so much better. They trust more in the common persons around them, who have never studied the History of the Holy Mass, to influence them over holy priests who have greatly studied the development of the Holy Mass over time.
When it comes to modesty, women, (and men who enjoy lusting after sexually provocative dressed women), they have more “faith” in how designers, TV and movie stars and singers tell them to dress than God. They also believe them more than the few brave priests who are willing to take the hated from them for just telling them the truth that God does not like it when women dress sexually.
Over and over again I have to see Catholic women in church with “leggings” or other provocative clothing. They love the attention their body gets and to be in style and have decided that they know best and that God, and the few brave priests who correct them, are wrong. They do not care that they are sinning and offending God. They know what is good for themselves.
Dressing provocatively and causing men to sin while trying to go to pray at mass, is serious sin. These people go to Mass and church and are at the same time crucifying Jesus Christ. Every sin I have committed or you are committing is crucifying Jesus. They are so blinded by their vanity and self will, that they do no care that they are crucifying Jesus in HIs own home, the church.
May we become humble again and realize that God is love and loves us more than anyone could ever love us. His rules, from the beginning of not eating the forbidden fruit, to today, are all to protect us from the devil and other evil things happening to us.
We are so fortunate to be traditional Catholics and know this. We will be humble and obey our loving God who created us.
