I took a few days off to travel to see my dad, Mario Carota, who is visiting my sister here New Mexico. Carlos, Juan and Joel came with us to visit my old friend, Fr. Terry Brennan. Fr. Brennan is pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Pena Blanca New Mexico.
Fr. Brennan has been here almost a year now. He helps out in two other Indian Pueblos. The reason he came here was because the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor (OFM) gave up this parish and their novitiate. This happened because they did not any vocations to be here in this novitiate, (where young men came to study Franciscan spirituality and start the process to become Franciscan priests and brothers).
As all of us traditional Catholics know, and want to scream from the house tops, progressive, modernist orders are dying out. What young man or woman wants to sacrifice their lives for a watered down christianity?
There were three old friars left here and have moved on now that Fr. Brennan has taken over. Remember the scientific truth, Old liberal Catholic cardinals, bishops, religious and priests are retiring and dying off. It is called B.S. (The Biological Solution, that is where, no matter how hard they fight against it, the old modernist are dying off).
Bishop Nevares had dinner with us priests after the traditional Confirmations at St. Catherine’s. He wants to talk to the many many altar boys here, (no altar girls), about becoming priests. (The Virgin Mary never wanted to be an altar girl). Most of the altar boys here at St. Catherine do want to become priests; but only traditional priests, and absolutely not Novus Ordo priests. He will see when they personally explain to him their vocations.
I explained to Bishop Nevares the fact that the Fraternity of St. Peter’s Seminary is packed full of young men studying to be traditional priests. Everywhere there is traditional Catholicism, there are young vocations of men and women willing to sacrifice everything for Jesus.
There are very few young native vocations coming out of the Novus Ordo ordinary Catholicism. (Most vocations or priests, filling up the lack of native born priests, are coming out of third wold countries like Mexico, the Philippines and India.) This is just another scientific fact.
Progressivism has no fruits. Where are the fruits of the Holy Spirit (love, life, missionaries, chastity, passion and vocations) coming out of the “Great Vatican II”. Many say it is way to early to see the fruits that are to come out of Vatican II. Why are they absolutely so blind. Their modernist, progressive agenda blinds them from the scientific and biological evidence staring them in the face everyday, every liberal religious order is quickly dying out, period.
Now when we look at the traditional Franciscan Friars and Sisters of the Immaculate, we “saw” just the opposite. Young men and women quickly joining the movement of the Holy Spirit to restoring sacred Catholic tradition. But the progressives have quickly jumped on them to oppress and destroy them. Of course this is all done behind the scenes, as is done all over the Catholic world. “Then were gathered together the chief priests and ancients of the people into the court of the high priest, who was called Caiphas: And they consulted together, that by subtilty they might apprehend Jesus, and put him to death.” Matthew 26: 3-4.
If you are traditional about sacred liturgy and firm on biblical morals, you will be suppressed behind the scenes. Over and over again I hear from young newly ordained priests that they can say the Latin Mass, but only in private on their day off and in their room. This is absolutely not what Summorum Pontificum says. If their is a small, consistent group of Catholics who are attached to the Latin Mass, they have a right to have a priest offer it for them.
So, as of right now, things look dismal. But, as scientific and biological reality slowly kicks in, young traditional Catholics will have the future. For this we are praying, working and waiting. We are so blessed to be traditional Catholics. We have much to look forward to.
The original author of this blog passed away in July of 2016. RIP Father Carota.
