“Behold this Heart which has so loved men that It spared nothing, even going so far as to exhaust and consume Itself to prove to them Its love.” Jesus to St. Margaret Mary. When Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary, His message was to all mankind and, in particular, to the King of France, Louis XIV. He explicitly asked “to reign in the King’s palace, to be painted on his standards and engraved on his arms, in order to render him victorious over all his enemies”. This calls to mind when Jesus appeared to Constantine before the Battle of Milvian Bridge in Rome (312 AD). Jesus told him to put the Sign of the Cross on all his standards and arms and to conquer in His name. Constantine won that decisive battle and went on to become Emperor of the Roman Empire. He then passed the Edict of Milan (313) that allowed Catholics to practice their faith without persecution. The Crucifix of Jesus, with St. Peter and St. Paul, was painted on the standard of Don Juan of Austria when he successfully conquered the Ottoman galleys at Lepanto in 1571.
In a later letter to her Mother Superior, Sister Margaret Mary wrote that the Divine Heart wished “to be the protector and defender of his sacred person [Louis XIV] against all his enemies visible and invisible. By means of this devotion He wants to defend him and make his salvation sure. … He will make all his undertakings redound to His glory by granting happy success to his armies.” He was also to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart. Remember, it was King Louis XIV who built the Palace of Versailles. At this time, the whole world looked to France, (The First Daughter of The Church) for culture.
When Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary on June 17th 1689, He asked that King Louis consecrate France to His Sacred Heart. But Jesus’ words fell on deaf ears and the king failed to consecrate France. Again King Louis XV failed to do what Jesus asked. King Louis XVI also failed to consecrate France.
On June 17, 1789, (exactly 100 years to the day of when Jesus asked King Louis XIV to consecrate France to His Sacred Heart) he was stripped of his legislative authority by the upstart of the Third Estate. Four years later (1793) he was executed at the guillotine. And because of the kings disobedience came to French Revolution and the “Reign of Terror” where thousands of bishops, priests, religious and lay Catholics where killed by the guillotine.
Well to be noted; every person who began the bloody French Revolution against God, the Catholic Church and the monarchy, ended up being executed at the guillotine as well. I found this interesting message from Jesus to Sister Lucia of Fatima on August 1931. “Make it known to My ministers, given that they follow the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of My requests, (consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary), they will follow him into misfortune. It is never too late to have recourse to Jesus and Mary.”
In another text Lucy wrote that Our Lord complained to her: “They did not wish to heed My request! Like the King of France they will repent of it, and they will do it, but it will be late. Russia will have already spread its errors in the world, provoking wars and persecutions against the Church. The Holy Father will have much to suffer.”The Sacred Heart badge was also worn by the Catholic Vendees when they attempted to resist the French Revolution.
The Spanish Carlists (during the communist persecution 1930s) also took the Sacred Heart symbol as their protector. The Cristeros of Mexico also had the the Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Guadalupe on their flags.
All of these persecuted Catholics believed in fighting wars (counter revolutions) for the actual temporal Kingship of Jesus Christ. Jesus is to rule through holy Emperors, Kings and Queens. We could even have a president who is totally consecrated to the Sacred Hearts laws, like President Garcia Moreno of Ecuador. But, every leader must be first subject and obedient to The Divine King, Jesus Christ. Even Jesus is subject and obedient to His Father, in all things.
President Garcia Moreno had these articles put into Ecuador’s constitution.
“Art. 1: The Republic of Ecuador consecrates itself to the Holy Heart of Jesus, proclaiming it as Patron and Protector.
“Art. 2: The Feast of that same Sacred Heart of Jesus is prescribed as a civil first-class holyday, to be observed in every cathedral of this Republic by diocesan prelates with all possible ceremony.”
He was assassinated by the masons on Aug. 6th 1875. The dying words of this magnificent Catholic statesman were; “Courage! God never dies!” “Dios No Muere.”The Twelve Promises To Those Who Are Devoted To The Sacred Heart Of Jesus.
