Pope Saint Pius V is said to have given the name, Auxilium Christianorum, to Mary, after her help in the miraculous victory at the Battle of Lepanto in 1571 against the Ottoman Turks.
Exactly 200 years from today (May 24, 1814), when Pope Pius VII re-enter Rome, he declared that the feast of Mary, Help of Christians be celebrated in the Roman calendar. It then spread from there.
We beg Our Lady, Mary, Help of Christians to intercede for each one of us and all our families and loved ones. May she bless each one of us. Mary, Help of Christians, Pray for Us.
