St. Joseph is such an important saint. After God, and then Mary, he is the next most powerful interceder for us. He has two feast days; March 19th and May 1st. We can learn so much from this man God chose to take care of His Son Jesus and Mary.
In this dark time when divorce and remarriage is sanctioned by cardinals and bishops in the church and homosexual “marriage” is demanded, St. Joseph is the saint to pray to for the sanctity and permanency of the sacrament of marriage between a man and a woman.
He is also a great example given to us by God on how holy and humble the head of the house should be (and for all who have roles of authority). This is especially needed when men are not good leaders and feminists women want to be the bosses of everything, (in spite of The Greatest Women ever, Mary, being totally subject to her spouse St. Joseph). St. Joseph never abused his authority, because he only acted with God’s will in mind. Even God (Jesus) obeyed him for 30 years.
Simply recalling his life we see that he is:
1) Obedient to God.
5) A worker.
8) Teacher by example.
Here is a prayer to pray today to St. Joseph taken from his Novena:
O glorious descendant of the kings of Judah, Inheritor of the virtues of all the patriarchs. Just and happy St. Joseph, listen to my prayer. Thou art my glorious protector, and shall ever be, after Jesus and Mary the object of my most profound veneration and confidence. Thou art the most hidden, though the greatest Saint, and art particularly the patron of those who serve God with the greatest purity and fervor. In union with all those who have ever been most devoted to thee I now dedicate myself to thy service; beseeching thee, for the sake of Jesus Christ, who vouchsafed to love and obey thee as a son, to become a father to me; and to obtain for me the filial respect, confidence and love of a child towards thee.
Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, hear us. Christ, graciously hear us.
God the Father of Heaven, have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the world,
God, the Holy Ghost,
Holy Trinity, One God, have mercy on us.
Holy Mary, pray for us.
Illustrious Scion of David,
Light of Patriarchs,
Spouse of the Mother of God,
Chaste guardian of the Virgin,
Foster-father of the Son of God,
Watchful defender of Christ,
Head of the Holy Family,
Joseph most just,
Joseph most chaste,
Joseph most prudent,
Joseph most valiant,
Joseph most obedient,
Joseph most faithful,
Mirror of patience,
Lover of poverty,
Model of workmen,
Glory of home life,
Guardian of virgins,
Pillar of families,
Solace of the afflicted,
Hope of the sick,
Patron of the dying,
Terror of demons,
Protector of Holy Church, pray for us.
Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, graciously hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
V. He made him lord over his house,
R. And the ruler of all his possessions.
St. Teresa of Avila had great great confidence in him too. “I only beg, for the love of God, that anyone who does not believe me will put what I say to the test, and he will see by experience what great advantages come from his commending himself to this glorious patriarch and having devotion to him. Those who practice prayer should have a special affection for him always. I do not know how anyone can think of the Queen of the Angels, during the time that she suffered so much with the Child Jesus, without giving thanks to Saint Joseph for the way he helped them. If anyone cannot find a master to teach him how to pray, let him take this glorious saint as his master and he will not go astray.”
A simple “7 Our Fathers” everyday to St. Joseph for the intention of getting good employment is very easy and effective. (Keep praying it till you get employment). As traditional Catholics we beg him to protect our Holy Catholic Church and to terrorize the demons who are decimating the Church, countries, society and families. We need more faith in our prayers to St. Joseph, knowing that he will come through and get us God’s help soon. St. Joseph, terror of demons and protector of the Church, Pray for us.
