No News Is Good News (For Lent and Probably For Good)

One of the sacrifices I have made for Lent is to not look at the internet news.  I would quickly glance at Fox News and NewsMax. I did this because time = life.  Besides, most of the news is distorted in some form or another.

10003145_294408300714890_874868867_nSince Ash Wednesday, I have had absolutely no desire to know about news.  I am completely satisfied (and at the same time very concerned) with all that is going on with the people I know and minister too.  Their sickness, accidents, jail terms and struggle with sins are enough to keep me in touch with what is going on.

I also have plenty of “news” just looking at the people driving and walking around.  The prostitutes and drug dealers continue living across the street.  Immodest dressing continues to get worse with the “leggings”.

Modern leggings are typically made from a blend of lyca (aka spandex), nylon, cotton, or polyester blend, but they can also be made from wool, silk and other materials. Leggings are available in a multitude of colors and decorative designs. Leggings are sometimes worn fully exposed, but are more traditionally worn partially covered by a garment such as a skirt, a large t-shirt, shorts, or fully covered by an outer garment, such as a full length skirt.”  From Wikipedia

Let us be content to rejoice with the good priests and people that we personally know.  We are happy to see so many people going to confession and changing in this time of lent.   And God goes on doing what He has, is and will be doing for all eternity.
