The old Country Story “Cracker Barrel has pulled from their stock some of the Duck Dynasty’s merchandise because of the comments of Phil Robertson made about homosexual sin right along with other sins.
On their Facebook they explained why: “Cracker Barrel’s mission is Pleasing People. We operate within the ideals of fairness, mutual respect and equal treatment of all people. These ideals are the core of our corporate culture. We continue to offer Duck Commander products in our stores. We removed selected products which we were concerned might offend some of our guests while we evaluate the situation. We continually evaluate the products we offer and will continue to do so.”
It seems as if everything today in the Catholic Church and the world is only about pleasing people. Anytime that some bad press happens, the church works so fast to try to patch it up so that no one is offended.
How about pleasing God?
In choosing to support the Gay, Lesbian, Transsexual and Bisexual, we choose to please people over God. Yes, right now they may spit on us, ridicule us and spray paint us (as took place at the cathedral of the diocese of Posadas in Argentina). See here. But God will not be mocked.
The liberals are beginning to fight against the National Security Agency’s spying because it also can expose people’s personal lives.
“These cameras reveal very private information — where you go, who you go there with,” she said. “They can record you going into the sex therapist’s office, the gay bar, the abortion clinic, any number of places that you would probably not want other people to know that you’re going . . . ”
Glenn Greenwald, the journalist who broke to the world the National Security Agency’s spying that Edward Snowden exposed, also told the European Union that the spying could effect women who want to kill their babies.
“Imagine, he said, “a woman who decides that she wants to get an abortion. If you’re listening in on her phone call, what you will hear is her calling a clinic. The clinic will answer with a generic-sounding name like ‘East Side Clinic’ or something like that.
Someone knowing we went to an Abortion clinic? Gay bar?. Shouldn’t we be afraid of God seeing us killing the unborn babies or having unnatural sex? We do not want people to know, but what about God knowing?
We want to live holy lives so that we can sleep peaceful with clean consciences. In this way we do not need to fear God now or upon our death. Oh what a great grace to love God and to be here to please Him.
