Anyone who goes against the world’s way of thinking will inevitably suffer greatly. If anyone loves what the saints loved before, the Latin Mass, Catholic truth and real morals, he will suffer and be shunned by most Catholics and the world.
But there is great consolation in the future glory with God and all the saints in heaven. When you read the lives of the saints, you will see the constant pattern of conversion, love of God, love of the Catholic faith, love of scripture, love of Mary and love of the poor. But you will also see the pattern of persecution, false rumors and isolation.
Reading the martyrology of the saints everyday in the Latin Breviary, you really see how much Catholic saints suffered before so that we have the true Catholic faith today. You notice that it began by the pagans and Jews. Then from the Arians. Then from the muslims and on and on. Through out history, governments have imprisoned, tortured and confiscated property from Catholics. Look at what KIng Henry VIII did to anyone who would not go along with “his church of England”.
“At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, These things I command you, that you love one another. If the world hates you, know ye that it hated Me before you. If you had been of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember My word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you: if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also. But all of these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they know not Him that sen Me. If I had not come, and spoken to them, they would not have sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. He that hateth Me, hateth My Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no other man hath done, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated both Me and My Father. But that the word may be fulfilled which is written in their law, They hated Me without cause.” John 15: 17-25
We travel a path well beaten by Jesus and the saints. It is the path of the cross. But it will end. As one of the Cristeros said: “With one bullet you will kill me, but with one bullet you will also put me in heaven.” There is a limited time of suffering in this life. It will end, We and those who persecutor us will die. But then begins eternity. For the good Catholics, life forever with God in heaven full of love and joy. For the bad Catholics, life forever with the devil.
For this reason we work and pray for our own conversion and of those who do not know Catholic truth (inside and outside the Church). We pray for those who hate the Father and Jesus and His disciples. We do everything we can, say anything we can, to save them from life forever with the devil. We love these people. That is why we gently share our faith with them. Then when all is said and done, we leave the rest to God and them.
